Carlos Morgan aka Carll Parkes, a talented singer, songwriter, producer is poised to break on a global level. Feelin' Alright, his debut album, showcased the diversity of Morgan’s sultry singing style with seductive ballads like ‘Let Me Love Again’ and ‘Forever For You’ to the upbeat R&B tracks ‘Give It To You’ and ‘Baby C’Mon’. Originally recorded as an independent release for DTone Records, it quickly became one of Canada's hottest selling indie albums of 1996/97, topping the charts at #3 on The Record's Independent charts after only two weeks of release. ‘Whatcha Got’, written and produced by Morgan went Top 40 in Canada, it’s inclusion on the Top 50 Canadian CHR songs for 2000 and MuchMusic Video Award nomination, paved the way for his reintroduction as a self produced artist.

Inspired by legends such as Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Nat King Cole, Morgan's evolution brings him to the release of his sophomore album “On My Way Back”. Having the creative control he desired, Morgan’s vision is to fuse the diversity of music genres that inspire him melding them with his R&B signature so there will be no mistake interpreting which genre Morgan calls home. Using his sizable vocal gifts, arrangements and ability to deliver multi-layered harmonies while utilizing his song writing and production skills, Morgan succeeds at making On My Way Back an album that will make an international impact.

Diverse, like his influences, Morgan/Parkes brings together a hit making team. From those whose track record comes with name recognition like Mishke, with writing and production credits for Michael Jackson, B2K, Spice Girls and Jessica Simpson; Matthew Gerrard having worked with David Foster; and Stephan Moccio having written and produced for Celine Dion and N’Sync; to the gifted domestic producers of Perry Alexander, Christopher Rouse, Colin Monroe and Ceasaro Grant of Agape 181 ‘The Movement’, all producers to watch. They translate Morgan’s music to the tangible on tracks like the sensual neo-soul song ‘”Break My Heart,” communicates well it’s title, with it’s timeless Jazz sounds, the sorrow echoes in the hook delivered as only Billie Holiday can. Finally for those wooed by his previous ballads, he does not disappoint in the delivery of the power ballad ‘Sweet As You Are’ which is destined to be a cross over hit.

Morgan/Parkes, honored at the 1997 Juno Awards for the Best R&B/ Soul Recording, since then has gone on to garner numerous awards and was the 2nd ever recipient of the 1998 SOCAN Urban Music Award for both talent and pioneering efforts to bring notoriety to the many gifted urban music artists in Canada. In 2002 Morgan had the repeated distinction to be included in the Canadian Who’s Who - Canada’s oldest and most complete who’s who publication. “Those included are selected based on merit alone, judged on the contribution they have made to life in Canada.” - Elizabeth Lumley, Editor.

For Morgan/Parkes, the stage has always been where he comes alive and feels most at home. “If you’ve never seen this guy live, you have to check him out, he tears it up!” - Tony Young, MuchMusic. His commanding interaction with the fans, his high energy and heat generated during his soulful jams have combined to earn Morgan the reputation of being one of the few artists who can deliver live that which his recordings embody. Reviews such as “Toronto based crooner Carlos Morgan puts the boots to the notion that Canada can’t produce slick, sexy urban music.” - SOCAN Words & Music; “Top R&B vocal stylist.” - Billboard Magazine; “One of the best practitioners of R&B music in North America let alone Canada. ” - Mike Bullard, CTV & The Comedy Channel; “He should be viewed along with Windsor’s Tamia as the likely contender to follow in Deborah Cox’s footsteps up the U.S. charts.“ - The Bridge, all illustrate that while many artists are watchable, few are as captivating.

Soulful, sexy, and determined, Morgan draws the listener in. On My Way Back, the culmination of years of having kept faith that all obstacles can be overcome and dreams are realized every day, Carlos Morgan will not only have you Feelin' Alright, but will also show us he is “On My Way Back.
